I was listening this song today. Once again I noticed that, despite the fact that it’s on my music player for some time and it has already been played like “a thousand times”, I hadn’t really listened this song. It happens all too often: music is just a nice background to whatever I’m doing in a given moment. This time, distracted from what I was doing, I started to pay attention to the lyric. What it says is so real! It’s so good!

Wouldn’t it be good to have someone to tell you not to worry? That everything is gonna be alright? That’s what music does for me countless times.

I’m back with new layout!

It’s about a year that I don’t update this blog. Geez! I can’t believe it! In fact, I had forgotten that it was here. I was creating a new template for another website, then I found some weird files on my web host. Well, those “weird files” where the old template:

I’ve made that (image above) when I was beggining to learn how to develop Wordpress themes. No surprise that a closer look at the old style.css would be a strange experience. Back in the day, I used to do lots of copy and paste from various templates. I still copy and paste a little bit. However now it’s ctrl+c ctrl+v of my own code.

Well, now I’m back! And with a shiny brand new layout!

I’ve changed the look of tatianeps.net too. Click on the image to browse around, the blog is in Portuguese.

Keep your passwords safe

Do you think your passwords are good enough to protect you from the dangers of the internet? Really!? Then read this article (link below) and think again.

I strongly disagree with the step four. It tells you to write down a mnemonic and keep it in a place you’re able to notice if it gone missing, like your wallet. What if someone finds about it? What if he/she takes a look at and puts that little piece of paper back in your wallet? Even though, the article is a must read!

How to Write Good Passwords

Ubuntu 8.10 & 3G

It has been quite a while I’m unsatisfied with Windows. I’ve already tried some Linux distros. However there was always some kind of problem, mostly because of my total inexperience with Linux.

When I thought everything would be up and running in my last format-and-reinstall journey, both Windows Vista x64 and Ubuntu 8.04 x64 failed to let me get to the web with my ZTE MF622 3G modem. Not to mention I’m under the impression that ZTE’s website doesn’t have any driver for x64 and Linux operating systems at all.

I can barely wait to jump out to Ubuntu 8.10, now that 3G modems are working on a Windows fashion — just click-click-and-go. For the record, I won’t get rid of Windows. Xp will stay on my hard drive, but only for the gaming thing. The daily use of computer and internet browsing will be on Ubuntu 8.10, as soon as make backup of the new gigabytes that just “magically showed up” — if you know what I mean. =)
